Sadness/Depression:
The way there is sadness in the book is when Parvana's father is taken away from her home never to be seen again. this also causes the mother to go into depression.
Anger:
One main scene of anger would have to be when Parvana and her mother go to the prison where her father is been held at and when they cant her father back that would of sparked some anger in her and her mother.
Frienship:
A main act of friendship would have to be when shuzia finds parvana in the market place and promises to come back and when she does she brings parvana food for her to eat and also for her family to eat.
War:
War is a major theme because throughout the whole book the scenes have all taken place in a war torn place which even through the book you can imagine what it would of been like throughout the book.
Gender inequality:
This is shown throughout the book because the talbian made rules that women always have to stay inside and arent alowd outside without a man but they never made rules for the men they where allowed to live as freely as they wanted.
Goodbyes:
Good byes are shown all throughout the book by first parvanas father going and then at the end of the book Nooria and her mother and little brothers and sisters going to a different part of the country to go and marry a man so they are safe.
Happiness:
Happiness is not very strong in the book because the book is very serious and sad. But a main scene of happiness would have to be when parvanas dad was coming back from the prison and she runs up to him and gives him a huge hug.
